The balance of nature
Following an Earth-friendly lifestyle is an attempt to protect the planet we inhabit. It’s an act of self-preservation, for us and future generations. What happens when the balance tips and we are in a declining cycle?
Honestly, this isn’t my preferred topic. I would rather write about herbal remedies, non-toxic housekeeping, and plants. However, all of that feels akin to trying to empty the ocean of its water with a small bucket when we step back and look at the whole picture.
We cannot live with blinders on. Eventually, they have to come off. Regardless of where you sit on the political fence, this affects you.
In recent years, the phrase “climate change” has earned itself quite the contentious image. Whether or not you agree with it, the Earth is changing. What is more alarming is the lack of effort by some nations to recognize and act upon these changes. And even more disturbing is the fact that my home country happens to be one of those that have turned their back on preserving our Earth. In recent news, it has been declared that at this point there is nothing that can be done to reverse the damage to our environment. Instead, the idea is to steamroll forward with the continued depletion of nonrenewable resources and pay no mind to environmentally protective policies. Read more about this here and here.
This is a global issue. Set aside the politics and what you have been conditioned to believe. Take a look at your children, your grandchildren, and the loved ones in your life. What does the future hold for them?
Step outside. Take a deep breath and sit on the ground, look up at the sky. Take in the natural world as it is. Take it all in- for what it is. See the imperfect perfection that nature is. Connect to the Earth and listen. Now ask yourself what you are willing to do to preserve this?
Maintaining the balance of nature is about education and awareness.
Nature is not a place we have to travel to. The truth is that Mother Earth is nature. We are nature. We reside on this planet, along with every other living thing here. So there is no need to look further than within ourselves to see that we are all connected. At this point, eco-friendly living means a lot less when the Earth itself is not being protected.
Know that you can make a difference. Elected officials are in place because they are placed there by the people. Use your voice to make a difference. The single most important thing one can do at this moment is to become educated on political topics (not just environmental ones) and vote accordingly. Know who and what you are voting for. As for me…
I am voting for Mother Earth.
Daughter of the Earth, Mother of her creations. Ivanna (Evie) doesn’t care for titles, but the ones that fit best are homeschool mom, herbalist, and blogger. Her greatest joy is guiding others to find true wellness within themselves and Mother Earth. When not spending time with her beloved family, she can be found researching everything related to holistic wellness, crafting herbal remedies, or visiting with the plants in the Magical Garden.

Love this so much! Thank you for sharing such a deep and powerful message. Xo
Thank you for stopping by, sister! I had no doubt that you would share in my sentiments. Together we can make a difference! Much love to you, today and always. xoxo
A great way to care for our planet is to reach out to others in the community and carpool to classes! If you see the same people week to week in your classes, check in to see if you could all ride together. This not only saves on gas and reduces your impact on the earth, but also builds community and maybe even a long-lasting friendship! Let us know if you start a carpool group, we’d love to hear about it.
These are great suggestions! Thank you for stopping by! 🙂
